About The Speaker
Elizabeth Kemigisha
Elizabeth is a feminist lawyer with interest and expertise in human rights law, feminist theory and project management.She has a keen interest in social, economic and political inclusion of young people and women in development of different societies
She currently works with FIDA-Uganda where she manages the women economic justice programme and the advocacy work of the institution. Her work focuses on addressing barriers to women involvement in economic activities; using feminist tools of analysis to examine and understand systemic injustices and their manifestations and, interrogating the intersection of economic exploitation and gender oppression in Africa.
She hopes that the work she does will contribute towards challenging and dismantling structural inequalities and building economic policies and practices that are pro poor especially in Sub -Sahara region.
